Michael Langlois writes the popular “Vintage Leaf Memories” blog and has now authored “The Maple Leafs of My Youth” to help bridge the past and present for Toronto Maple Leaf fans around the world. Born in 1953 and a Leaf supporter since the late 1950s, Michael shares personal stories and memories about players, events and moments from his younger days as a fan that are part of the unique and lasting legacy of the Maple Leaf franchise. “The Maple Leafs of My Youth” is not a book about statistics, research or what is commonly known about the blue and white. It is in fact a very personal memoir of what it has meant to be a follower of the Leafs through very changing times, and why the franchise still matters to this day to countless supporters—despite decades without a Stanley Cup championship.
The Maple Leafs of My Youth Vintage Leaf Memories Book 1 eBook Michael Langlois
Many books have been written about the storied history of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Few capture the genuine emotion and anxiety filled nights, huddled around the radio, or those old black and white television sets, as we thrilled over victories, as well as Michael Langlois has in this well written book. The tales of the author's family, his break with his father's love of the Habs, the joy of collecting the Beehive cards, and the hero worship so many of us shared in our youth and continue to enjoy to this day, are brought beautifully to light. He brings small town life in Ontario into sharp focus. When we became hockey fans we were united in a common endeavor. While hockey is a huge part of our history, it plays an even greater role in our hearts. The players, the owners and the whole cast of characters are described in this thoughtful book, penned from the creator of one of my favorite blogs: Vintage Leaf Memories. For Leaf fans everywhere, this is a must read.Product details

The Maple Leafs of My Youth Vintage Leaf Memories Book 1 eBook Michael Langlois Reviews
I recently downloaded The Maple Leafs of My Youth to my reader and I can't put it down. Michael Langlois' book has brought back many wonderful memories of the Toronto Maple Leafs of my own youth. I highly recommend this book to all Leaf fans, especially those who witnessed the Leaf glory years of the 1960s. For younger Maple Leaf enthusiasts this book provides a poignant and very personal history of a storied hockey franchise beginning in the late 1950s.
For a newer fan like me, this book helped give a new perspective on where the game has come from over the last 50 years. I imagine this would be a pretty clear 'hit' among fans who've been following hockey for decades, but I also highly recommend it for people who've come to love hockey just in recent years. Michael just does a wonderful job of capturing why we love this game!
Fun read!
